Mental Health and Emotional Well-being:
Coaching Session 1: Self-Awareness and Emotional Intelligence
In the first session, I would help the teenager become more self-aware by encouraging self-reflection and discussing their emotions and triggers.
We'd explore techniques for managing stress and anxiety, such as mindfulness exercises and deep breathing.
I would introduce the concept of emotional intelligence and how it can benefit their overall well-being.
Coaching Session 2a and 2b: Goal Setting and Time Management (completed in 2 separate sessions)
We'd focus on setting realistic and achievable goals, both academically and personally.
I would provide tools and strategies for effective time management to reduce the pressure they may feel regarding their studies.
Coaching Session 3: Seeking Help and Support
We'd discuss the importance of seeking help when facing mental health challenges and how to approach trusted adults or professionals.
I would provide resources and contacts for mental health services, should they ever need them.
Students will complete the series with increased awareness about certain challenges they face, a new found "community" of peers who participated with them and additional resources for when they need future support.
